The Most Evil People That You Didn’t Even Know Were Evil:
A Commentary About the Stories Behind the “Heroes”
By Bubba Roeper
The world has had many heroes in its illustrious history. Obviously. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Audie Murphy, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Joan of Arc, Leonardo Da Vinci, Winston Churchill, Superman, George Lucas, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King, Jr. and many, many more. But what of the ones we think of as heroes who really weren’t? We call them heroes and they did great things for us, the average people of the world. For the most part. But what of the secret lives of the men and women we think of as heroes? I present to you now the Most Evil Good People of All Time.
Walt Disney-“Wait Bubba, Walt Disney was a great man who made great movies for generations of young Americans and old Americans alike!” And true, he did. He made some of the top grossing films of all time, stories of love and overcoming the odds and family. He also hated Jews and was extremely Right-Wing in politics. As stated by author Marc Eliot, who wrote “Walt Disney: Hollywood’s Dark Prince.” Disney, who according to Eliot, was a noted Anti-Semite (he removed a scene showing the Big Bad Wolf as a Jew), was under covert employment as a anti-Communist Spy for the House Un-American Activities Committee, and he refused to lower the flags to half mast after the assassination of John F. Kennedy due to the cost of doing so. So, he was Anti-Semitic, betrayed his peers, and was a greedy and miser-like. Great hero folks.
GUILTY OF: Anti-Semitism, Betraying his friends, and being generally miser-like.
Thomas Alva Edison-Again, a man you may or may not have known was evil. You see, a man named Nikolai Tesla invented what is called Alternating Current (AC for short). This is a form of electricity and it was the chief competition of Edison’s Direct Current (DC). The AC could have its power stepped up to higher voltages than DC and it used cheaper wires so it was cheaper to produce and Tesla was going to give it to the world for free. In 1887 there were 121 Edison Power Stations in the United States delivering DC electricity to customers. Then, the public began to speak about how expensive DC was as opposed to AC. So in 1888, Edison launched what is quite possibly the largest smear campaign of all time. Edison said that AC was way more dangerous than DC (which it was, but only slightly more. And it was able to travel farther/be used longer!), so Edison helped develop the first electric chair using AC and then had his company use this chair to kill animals of all kinds, including Topsy the Elephant in 1903. So, in 1906 AC was declared illegal in most circumstances (subways and elevators are exceptions). Nikolai Tesla died broken, alone, and poor in 1943. Edison went on to become a national hero for inventing stuff. And being an evil man.
GUILTY OF: Slander and pretty much ruining the life of one man. Oh and SELLING WHAT IS ESSENTIALLY FREE.
Henry Ford-Henry Ford? Henry I-Revolutionized-The-Auto-Industry-And-Invented-The Ford? What could he do that is so evil? He created millions of jobs for Americans, put us on the map industrialization wise. What could he do? Well, for one Hitler said that Henry Ford was his inspiration (hard work speaking, not wipe out the Jews) and kept a life sized portrait of him next to his desk in his office. He won the Grand Cross of the German Eagle, the highest award given to foreigners by the Nazis, after the annexation of Austria in 1938. Also, Ford outright was not a supporter of FDR and was angry at him for forcing Ford to change his factories into wartime production and losing him money. And, to top it all off, he was paranoid that the government was trying to assassinate him. So, he hated Jews (not as much as Hitler, but he did A LOT), hated his president, and was a greedy jerk.
GUILTY OF: Anti-Semitism, Miserly, and hating his countrymen.
So, as you can see, some of the most influential, smartest, greatest Americans of all time were actually jerks and not all that good of people except for their work lives. But, needless to say, these men are still great men who helped the world a lot. Just don’t tell your kids, siblings, friends, etc. to be more like them. Bad stuff could go down.
Oh, comment back and interesting stories you might know of good people who do evil things (If they’re famous people. No one wants to hear your sob story of the friendly clerk at the local store who stole your money. No one.) and maybe I can add to the list, who knows?

Wow, I never knew. It’s interesting to me to see how much that we are not aware of. I guess it really pushes the idea that you can’t always take things at face value.
